Sprint Pushing ID Update to Epic 4G and Tab

Sprint today said that it is pushing a system update to both the Samsung Epic 4G and Galaxy Tab. The update will enable Sprint ID on these devices, which lets customers download themed ID packs, containing apps, widgets, ringtones, wallpapers, and shortcuts.

Sprint, why do you feel it necessary to infect your phones with bloatware?

So glad I got rid of my Epic

Sprint ID is HORRIBLE. Bloatware and I am sure Sprint makes loads of money from the companies who have their Apps loaded in Sprint ID.

The beauty of Android is the ability to customize your phone how you want. Have the Applications you want, and not the ones you dont... Sprint ID takes away from that and basically turns your phone into a mobile advertisement platform for whatever company your Sprint ID is on.
I dont really like the Sprint IDs either, but you dont have to use them. The phones that come with it are stock android if you don't install any IDs. It's not like that option being there hurts your phone in any way. Not sure where your over the top h...

Welcome to every phone minus the Nexus series of devices.

They all have crapware and bloatware.

You can still root and remove it though. I'm on 2.3 already with no crapware with my Epic.

Hello, Froyo?

How about pushing that long over due Froyo update!!! Long over due. Sprint keeps people held at bay. What is wrong with this phone that Froyo isn't being pushed???
2.2.1 is included in the update...

All existing Samsung Epic 4G and Samsung Galaxy Tab owners will be prompted this week to accept an over-the-air software update for Sprint ID, and Epic users will also receive an update for the Android 2.2 (Froyo)...
