Intel, mm02, Nokia, Panasonic, RealNetworks, Samsung and Warner Bros. Studios today announced plans for a Digital Rights Management (DRM) licensing and compliance framework called Content Management License Administrator (CMLA). The new group will serve as a clearinghouse for encryption keys and certificates that permit use of high-value digital media (video, music, etc.) on mobile devices that include Open Mobile Alliance's (OMA) new DRM version 2.0 specification. CMLA intends to have a toolkit including encryption keys available by the end of 2004.
