Port Your Number to Sprint, Get $125 or $50 Toward Service

Article Comments  60

Mar 12, 2011, 10:38 AM   by Eric M. Zeman

Sprint recently launched a new promotion whereby new customers who port their number from another carrier will receive a service credit with Sprint, depending on what type of new line is activated. Those who port their number to a new smartphone line will receive a $125 service credit, and those who port to a standard feature phone line will receive a $50 service credit. Users will see the credit in the first monthly statement after they've been a new Sprint customer for 60 days (as long as users remember to register for it). The promotion lasts until April 16, 2011.

Other special offer: Port your number from Sprint, not have to have Sprint.

Maybe you're tired of Sprint endlessly screwing up your bill, or having to pay an extra $120.00/yr on a 4G network you can't use, and when you can use it you don't want to because your phone will die before lunch time.

Maybe you're tired of a lack of follow up on carrier initiatives.

Maybe you want a smartphone that doesn't freeze randomly on incoming calls (evo evo evo) or doesn't die after 4 hours of use (evo evo evo ) , or are maybe tired of owning the knockoffs sprint seems to get compared to real providers.

Or maybe you're just tired of the Jerry springer reenactments at Sprint stores.

Now there is an even better special offer- if you switch from Sprint, you don't have to put up with Sprint.
Actually, you're not paying any extra for 4G service anymore. $10 premium data is required on all smartphones. Either way, smartphone plans are still significantly cheaper through Sprint than every carrier I've seen.

I've never seen an Evo freeze...

I will never understand your quest to addlepate other forum member's minds with ignorance.

Whatever differences you have with the carrier in question, I would recommend stifling your opinion. An opinion that doesn't have some sort of childish atta...

You eat lead paint don't you?
seriously even with the 10.00 premium data fee.
Sprint is a great value compared to other carriers

Translation: If I'm not paying over $100/month for iPhone on AT&T, it's garbage.

Nice incentive but......

If Sprint could put their money where their mouth is when it comes to better customer service, less billing errors, and network quality, then I would not mind the $$$ going in that direction. 🙂
Wow lucky for you, your dreams have come true! If you look at the industry ratings, you'll see that Sprint is now tied with Verizon for the number one national carrier spot on Consumer reports, as well as being the only carrier recognized as a "Custom...

And ppl like you will probably still be spouting the same BS in another 2 yrs. But anyone who actually pays attention to things knows how well sprint is doing, just like Superwho said.

Well tmobile is ranked #1 by jdpowers for customer service, but sprint has made improvements but the bad thing is that it was soo horrible a couple years ago, they are still goin to get a bad rep.

It's so sad that you live in 1996. Tell Boys 2 Men and Color Me Badd I said "Hello".
Let's be real, a computer (meaning a non-manned system) generates the data of usage. Billing errors are myths, so when your bill says you went over, that’s because YOU WENT OVER YOUR ALLOTMENT of minutes, messages etc. etc. I have only ev...

This is a great incentive!

Sprint has come very far in rebuilding a strong foundation to grow again. They have come full circle in improving so many past damaging aspects of the company:

Customer Service.
Phone selection.
Price plans.
Billing.
Network performance.
Management skills.

All these items have been addressed and remedied to a very respectable degree. These things will once again compliment the innovation Sprint has always been known for.

I would hope that those who browse this forum, realize Sprint is NOT the same carrier it was two years ago. As a customer, I almost left for a second time because of headaches, inadequacy of proper acknowledgments of issues. However, I elected to stay the course once Dan Hesse took the helm. His accomplis...

John i know what ur saying its a great incentive and people on here complaining are just trying troll.
Good post. I wish other people would not post their experiences from years ago, but would stick to how Sprint is doing NOW. I would like to see the company do well and regain a competitive edge. It only helps the industry exponentially. I don't get th...

Ooooooo...very tricky.
I can't think of any companies that don't do similar things when it comes to redeeming incentives.

Register for warranties...

Since you are getting this credit why not donate some of them??

A 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan earlier today. 😁 👀

- Sprint is waiving text-message fees for Sprint customers who send mobile donations to a number of short codes and organizations participating in the relief and recovery efforts.

- Currently, Sprint text messages sent to and from the following short codes will not be charged standard text-messaging fees:

- Text “REDCROSS to “90999” to donate $10 on behalf of the American Red Cross.

- Text “TSUNAMI to “50555” to donate $5 on behalf of Convoy of Hope, Inc.

- Text “WAVE” to “50555” to donate $10 on behalf of the World Relief Corp. of National Association of Evangelicals.

- Text "JAPAN" or "QUA...

Best Deal In Wireless

Now there is no excuse, unless you're a brain washed iPhone loyalist and as far as being "tricky" with the online form to get the credit come on its an online form just do it.

It will make Sprint better

Big Sprint fan here, and was with them thru the worst of the worst years. But to come back from the depths like they have, they have had to work very hard and are coming out a much stronger company and are growing again. They won't be able to get back every customer they have pissed off, but the smart ones will do the research. And let the others pay for and get less elsewhere, along with the unfriendly to customer policies and attitudes.
