During its iPad 2 event today in San Francisco, Apple announced a new version of iOS. The biggest new feature is that iOS 4.3 will bring the mobile hotspot feature to the iPhone 4. AT&T hasn't said if or when it will support this feature. iOS 4.3 brings several other new features to the platform, including iTunes home sharing, improved AirPlay (via Apple TV), and boosted Safari performance. iOS 4.3 will be available to the GSM version of the iPhone on March 11.

Where is the phonescoop iPad announcement?
They only talk about phones on phonescoop...

...and more recently non-iOS tablets...

Maybe they will talk about it, you never know. It really depends on their mood at the time.

ATT Announcement

Actually, AT&T did announce support. To allow this, you will need to be on the newer 2 GB plan for $25 and then tag on the tethering add-on for $20 - adding another 2 GB for tethering for a total of $45 for 4 GB of data. This is going to work for both ipad and iphone 4.
