Motorola To Return To Sprint Lineup

The FCC yesterday approved what appears to be the first Motorola phone for Sprint in nearly two years. The phone appears to be a new design based on the popular v60 series. FCC documents indicate the phone has large color main display, a two-line extenal display, and a redesigned keypad from previous v60 models. The preliminary user manual includes features such as voice dialing and a PCS Vision browser, with no mention of Java or Push-To-Talk. The last Motorola phone carried by Sprint was the v120, in early 2002. Sprint also recently rekindled its relationship with Nokia after a similar extended absence from the Sprint lineup.

Any chance they'll bring the MPX200 to Sprint?

I want to keep my existing Sprint plan, but I'm dying to have a phone that syncs with Outlook like the MPX200 or the i600. Any chance either of these phones (or a flip phone with similar characteristics) will end up on the Sprint network?

Thanks...

😁
I dont think so because it is built on a GSM platform.

Food for Thought

I am a former Sprint PCS employee, who still has a tremendous amount of respect for Sprint and the obstacles they overcome to provide the service they do. I just wanted to let everyone know however, there was a reason for dropping Nokia and Motorola from the lineup two years ago, besides the Qualcomm chip factor (which was a major factor). Simply said it's features. Motorola handsets were considerably more expensive and offered not even a fraction of the features as competitive models, such as the Sanyo's and Samsungs (although Samsung quality has diminished since the 8500.) I love Motorola, i currently have a T720 through Cingular, but I still think that Sanyo is a much better company. Any of you Sprint users or potential Sprint users consi...

Good News from Sprint

Finally, Sprint is coming around with some good Motorola phones that will be introduced and on the market soon. This new phone which is a revised version of the V60 looks to be a great, reliable and tough product. Sprint needs to reduce their dependency on Samsung, which has mediocre results from their handsets, and use products from Sanyo and Motorola. I believe they would keep many more customers and not have the complaints associated with Samsung. Keep going Sprint!

Agreed.

It was about two years ago that Sprint dropped Nokia and Motorola. The thing is, they were both producing crap CDMA phones at the time. Painful as it was to drop the top two brands, I think Sprint made a smart move.

The reason they were ...

About Time!

I only buy Motorola phones, and won't use any carrier that doesn't support them.

Normally, I use GSM, which precludes SPRINT PCS, but I only buy my wife Motorola phones - and Sprint PCS has attractive rate plans.

She talks a lot.

So, off of T-Mobile she goes (they have lousy covereage in my area - surprise, surprise), and onto Sprint PCS!
