Verizon Wireless today announced Mobile Email 4.0, a fully re-worked mobile email application for its feature phones. The new program supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for push email delivery and support for corporate email, contacts and calendar, and personal email services. The email app also has a refreshed user interface, which Verizon says is easier to navigate and use. It includes new features, including the ability to upload picture attachments from either the device or the memory card. The software will first be offered to the LG Octane, Cosmos Touch, and the Samsung Zeal. Owners of those phones will be alerted via text message when the new email app is ready for download. Mobile Email is available for $5 per month with a Pay as You Go data option, but it is included with a data plan costing $15 or more.
