Speaking in a video interview with Mobile World Live, HTC CEO Peter Chou said that it will introduce its first Long Term Evolution handset in the U.S. at some point in 2011. "We think that the U.S. mobile operators will be taking the lead and pushing 4G LTE in the U.S. market... We are working on LTE devices for next year," Chou said. He also indicated that it is focusing on Google's Android platform and Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform for LTE. “[Customers] may want Windows or Android; or they may want big screen or small screen, they may want keyboard or tablet; HTC will let the consumer decide,” he said. By mid-2011, MetroPCS' LTE network will have expanded, Verizon's LTE network will have expanded, and AT&T will be about ready to launch its LTE network.
