Google Adds 'Restore' Feature to Gmail Contacts

Google today announced a new feature that it has added to Gmail. Users of Gmail's contacts program will be able to restore their contact database and un-do any cuts or deletions that may have occurred at any point in the preceding 30 days. The tool, which is included in the desktop version of Gmail, lets users revert their contact database to any particular moment they want, ranging from 10 minutes back to 30 days. Google says that any contacts added between the present and the moment from which the user chooses to restore will be deleted, and any that were deleted will be added back in. Google says that if the restore doesn't provide users with the desired result, it can be reverted back to the present. Google believes this will help people who've lost their contact data when syncing different devices (such as Android smartphones) or accidentally made changes to their contact database.
