Verizon Working to Fix LTE Hand-Off Glitch, Add Mac Support

Verizon Wireless spokesperson Jeffrey Nelson said that the company is working to fix a problem users are experiencing when their new Long Term Evolution modem moves out of LTE coverage and attempts to switch to EVDO. The transition from LTE to EVDO is taking up to two minutes for some users. Nelson also said that Verizon will deliver the software drivers needed for Apple computers to access and use the LTE network. He noted those drivers would arrive "relatively soon," though he didn't provide an exact time frame.

How could something like this happen? I thought Verizon is always testing their network.
I can just hear the indignant customers demanding a years free service for their inconvenience.
It just seems inconceivable that they would not test the LTE to EVDO hand-off BEFO...

Remember the first Tri mode phones? Handoff between analog and digital used to disconnect you entirely. They figured out that rather quick. They'll do more here...

So Sprint worked out how to fix their inconsistant signal strength and speed already? news to my brother who's using one of their modems.

I would like to reply....
First of all I would like everyone who has an LTE data card and has experienced a delay longer then 60 seconds to please post here.
Second I would like to thank the big red for making this public instead of saying 'they all do this' or 'just hold it a different way'
Third, I would love to have cellstudent explain what goes on between a handoff from LTE to EVDO.. I think there is a lot more going on then most of you currently understand.
