Sprint to Launch WiMax in Denver Dec. 19

Sprint representative Stephanie Vinge today announced via Twitter that Sprint will launch WiMax service in Denver on December 19. She noted that some area users might be able to find a live signal as soon as today.

Really? No offense, but how is this a joke? Considering Sprint/Clearwire aren't raking their consumers through the coals with pricing, they have done remarkably well deploying a new technology that is on par with their respective competitors.

A little off topic but I'm curious...

I'm curious as to why a phonescoop article on Oct 21 that showed WiMax2 to be "ITU approved" 4G got 2 responses, one of which was ignorant...

But an article on Nov 24 about LTE-Advanced getting the 4G nod was met with overwhelming hatred and spew towards WiMax and Sprint...

It appears that the LTE fanboys from ATT and VZW have some huge hater issues. Coincidentally, they also have spectrum issues...

Is anyone else reminded of the "big man on campus" that was a jerk to everyone and always acting like tough guy... but in the locker room he was known as the "little man on campus"?

I see the same thing from the "big two" and its fans who like to talk all the noise who actually have the smaller, er, "network spectrum"...

Most are just unsure of the concept. They view LTE as being different from WiMAX. This is the flaw of perception. LTE appears to be the overwhelming choice by carriers to deliver high speed internet wirelessly to our mobile devices. So this means WiM...
