The FCC has posted approval for the Casio C771. Casio has produced the G'zOne and Exilim phones for Verizon Wireless, and this phone has EV-DO Rev. A capabilities, which could mean it's headed to The Network. The phone also uses a touchscreen, as well as an accelerometer and a compass, which are all staples of Android smartphones, though no specific operating system is mentioned in the FCC documents. Otherwise, the phone features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and TTY capabilities.

While I applaud

the determination of the little guys (Casio, Sanyo, Dell, Asus) for attempting to gain a share of the Android Smartphone market, their effort is futile. The Big Boys, such as HTC, Motorola and Samsung, are going to own Android for the foreseeable future.
