Swype Beta 5 Improves Editing Features

The Swype closed beta program, now in its fifth generaton, has added some new features to the gesture-based software keyboard. Users can now double-tap a word to open the editing correction menu. The new keyboard also offers a voice-to-text button if you have Google Voice Search on your Android device.

The latest beta version of iOS 13 includes a new feature in FaceTime called Attention Correction, which subtly alters the image of your face in real time to make it look like you're looking into the camera even when you're looking down at the screen to see the other person. It only seems to work on the very newest generation of iPhone models, (Xs, Xs Max, and Xr, but not the original iPhone X,) indicating that the feature may require the A12, Apple's newest processor chip.

OnePlus has made the first Open Beta build of OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie available to the OnePlus 6. OnePlus had previously been testing the beta with a closed group.

Google today started rolling out a new software update for Pixel phones that adds new capabilities. A long-press of the lock/power button will now surface a simple Google Pay interface that lets you swipe to choose a card or pass before tapping.

Google has updated its GBoard keyboard application for Android devices and given people the freedom to move it around. Tapping on the "> " button in the conjures up a menu box with the option to unmoor the keyboard from the bottom of the screen.
