Mozilla Pushes Out Another Beta of Firefox for Mobile

Mozilla today announced a new version of Firefox 4 Beta for mobile. The latest build offers a significant reduction in the size of the application (from 43MB down to 17MB). It also includes a revised user interface, the ability to "undo" closing of tabs, and smoother panning and zooming. Mozilla claims that the browser is 25% faster than the stock Android browser. Mozilla said the next beta will add hardware acceleration and enable HTML5 video playback. The beta is a free download for Android devices running 2.2 Froyo and for Nokia's Maemo platform.

on the Android Market. I'm running 2.1, is that why???

Either that or it's not available in the market. I would suggest going to Mozilla's site and downloading it from there.

Works on 2.1 as well

I downloaded it and it works great on my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 with 2.1. It appears most mobile add ons have not been updated to support this new beta version; should be great once they do. Save to PDF function is nice.

why dont they just quit??

some1 explain to me why is this garbage weight in at 17 MB when my prefer default Dolphin Browser only weight 1.83 MB !
