Nokia has published version 1.1 of its forthcoming MeeGo platform for the N900 device. The N900 is shipped with a Maemo operating system, but users can install both platforms on the N900 and boot from either operating system. Nokia's MeeGo platform is the combined product derived from its Maemo platform and Intel's Moblin platform, both of which are based on Linux.

MeeGo

The name sucks.

"ok sir, this one has Windows Phone 7, pretty decent, if you're a fan of Android you can get this phone here, and we also have the iPhone with iOS... oh wait, we have MeeeeeGoooooooooo too!!!"

lame.
I wasn't crazy about Android at first either (I mean, seriously) but look how that has taken off. The name means little if the experience is fantastic.
As for me, I might just wait a bit before trying out Meego. I don't think 1.1 is quite up to snuff...
