Nokia has issued a second statement in hopes to clarify the issue surrounding the N8's availability. Nokia claims that it still plans to begin shipping the device by the end of the third quarter (which is September 30), but depending on transit times, border and customs issues, and so on, delivery times will vary. This means that the N8 may ship by its targeted date, but not necessarily arrive by its targeted date. On Monday, Nokia said that it has received a record number or pre-orders, and that the N8's launch would be delayed by a few weeks in some markets. It had previously promised to make the N8 available in a number of markets by the end of September.
