Verizon Communications has made a number of changes to its top management positions. Verizon Wireless President and CEO Lowell C. McAdam has been named president and chief operating officer of Verizon Communications, effective starting October 1. As COO, McAdam will oversee Verizon's entire telecommunication businesses, including both the wireless and wireline divisions. Verizon also announced that Daniel S. Mead, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer at Verizon Wireless, will become president and chief executive officer of Verizon Wireless, taking McAdam's spot. McAdam has been in a top management spot with Verizon Wireless since 2000, and CEO since 2007.
