DoCoMo, 3 Announce International 3G Video Calling

Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo today announced that it will enable users of its 3G videophones to make international videophone calls to Hutchison 3G customers in the United Kingdom starting October 1st. The companies will also link 3G data services, allowing customers to dial directly into private LANs at 64 Kbps speeds between the two countries. DoCoMo expects to expand the international videophone/data service to other countries in the near future.

Google hopes a new feature in its Family Link app will help parents find apps that are recommended by educators. Google says it is adding a new card to the Family Link app that highlights what Google calls "nutritious" apps, or apps recommended by teachers.

YouTube Music is the new music service that is built around streaming with revised recommendations, playlists, stations, search, new/trending videos, exclusives, and downloads for offline playback to paying subscribers.

Even though the summer travel season has largely ended, Google this week expanded Google Trips, Google Flights, and Google Destinations to a more international audience thanks to new languages and availability. For example, Google Destinations is now available in 14 new languages, including Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Filipino, Hungarian, Indonesian, Japanese, Lithuanian, Malaysian, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovakian, and Slovenian.
