Carriers Adopt Consumer Code

CTIA today announced a new "Consumer Code" - a document that enumerates 10 voluntary pro-consumer industry principles, disclosures and practices. All of the nation's major wireless carriers anounced that they will adopt the code. The Code requires several specific company policies beneficial to consumers, requires certains types of information be provided to consumers, and prohibits specific deceptive practices.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai today published a draft order that details how he intends to roll back the current net neutrality regulations. Pai said the order "would return to the bipartisan consensus on light-touch regulation, ending utility-style regulation of the internet."
