Research In Motion has made the Windows version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 available for download. RIM had originally offered it in beta form in July. Its release for Windows PCs precedes the launch of the BlackBerry 9800 Torch, which runs BlackBerry 6. The new version of the desktop client makes syncing media content between PCs and BlackBerry 6 handsets easier and more user friendly, and allows syncing via Wi-Fi. It initially supports the 9800 Torch and 9300 Curve.

New Blackberry Desktop Manager & Phone OS has Problems

I thought I'd share I've had problems with v. 6 of the desktop manager, and have been on the phone with RIM over the past week. There seems to be a conflict with Windows XP. Each time I close the program I get a Windows error.

I am not confident that if I had to restore the phone OS or data that it would take, and am holding off on updating to the v. 5.0.0.822 OS. RIM is supposed to fu with me tomorrow with their solution. Tech support also said they're having issues still with the new phone OS.
