The law firm of Kershaw, Cutter and Ratinoff has posted a message on its Web site asking new iPhone 4 buyers who have experienced reception issues to contact the firm. The firm last made technology news headlines when it sued Facebook and Zynga for allegedly improper credit card and cell phone charges. Specifically, the company is asking about poor reception quality, dropped calls and weak signals on Apple's new device.

I'm shocked

J/K. I'm not. I'm not surprised though. Let's see what Apple's gotta say about this one.
I'm not surprised either, although it is pretty sad that people can sue over something this petty - and someone like me can't even seem to get a fair settlement after a car accident with life-long repercussions.
*sigh*
They will probably counter sue for trying to sue them, and claim they have a patent on suing.

Well, when you're on top, you just end up with a big bulls eye on your head.

Paid the cost to be the boss right?

So Stupid!

The product hasn't been out 30 days. If you aren't satisfied take it back. Whats great about the smartphone market is there is competition. Go get something else!

I bout an LG tv that had problems. I jumped online and saw many others with the same problem. I didn't sue, I took the tv back and bought a Samsung...What a concept!

The reason this won't work...

The problem with this lawsuit is that there are a lot of phones out there that will lose service if held a different way. Nokia put up a nice little blog saying that you can hold their phones any way you'd like, but users then posted a ton of videos showing not only Nokia phones, but HTC and Motorola smartphones (Droids) that also lose service when held a certain way. Unless these guys plan on going after every single manufacturer, they aren't going to win.

Another problem is the fact that the FCC forces manufacturers to put the antenna at the bottom of the phone to as far away from the head as possible. The idea place for an antenna is the top of the phone, but that wouldn't pass the FCC.
humm intresting do you have a link to that blog ? because i've been searching the internet for it but i can't find it.

Nope. It does not hurt your case to pick and choose who to go after if others are in similar circumstance...

I dont understand your point.... Yeah all phones loose some type of reception when held in a particular way. But the difference with the iphone 4 is the fact that it looses all reception completely. Also it was dumb for crapple to put the antenna near...

My guess...

I'm gonna guess this gets settled to the point that:

* If you haven't already, you may get a free case up to $XX.XX in value to help.
* If you purchased a case already, you may get a free credit of $XX.XX towards the iTunes store.

AT&T service in South Bend Indiana SUCKS!!!

Boy if this law firm ever came out here they would hit the lotto. AT&T service sucks on all AT&T phones and BlackBerry items here. They bought out Cenntial service and everyone I know has gone over to T-Mobile or Verizon because they will not stand behind what they sell or service.
You do realize the acquisition of the network there isn't even done yet...
...
Verizon has better Android phones anyway. Left IT&T in the past.
...
Maybe you should move to NYC. I hear at&t rocks there now.

idiots!

While I find it funny that iPhone 4 doesn't get reception... you don't sue over that, you take the phone back! These sue happy people have to be stopped. That being said, maybe this will teach Apple a lesson about its extremely litigous ways.
Unfortunately our government is full of lawyers. Firms pay disgusting amounts of money lobbying to make sure tort reform never happens. IE we're screwed, when these companies (like Apple) pay settlements or lawsuit awards guess who gets handed that co...
