Virgin Mobile will launch its own version of the Novatel MiFi device. According to Gearlog, carrier reps have confirmed the prepaid wireless hotspot device will be coming next week. The MiFi will cost $149 with no contract required. Service will be available with plans running from $10 for 100MB of data to $60 for 5GB. Verizon Wireless offers a MiFi device without a contract agreement, but Sprint offers no such device, and the latter carrier uses Virgin Mobile, its wholly owned subsidiary, for prepaid offerings. The Virgin Mobile MiFi will be available on June 28 from Best Buy, Radio Shack and online.

Don't get virgin mobile broadband2go if you depend on it working.

All levels at virgin mobile (from customer reps to so called "executive" care) are unable to report any actual tower issues... this means that when the tower you are using fails it will remain broken indefinitely (or until a post paid sprint customer reports a problem).

On towers that it does work on (grin) it works well... This is not that bad but you will be assigned a NAT address (10. series)... while using a sprint connection card/mifi gets you an actual routable ip address.

If you are just looking for a backup device or casual usage this isn't a bad way to go... but if they have ...

Not to mention they have a 4G device that costs $60/mo for unlimited (whatever their definition is) data on 4G.
