Netflix Brings Streaming Movies to the iPhone

At the Apple WorldWide Developer's Conference today, Netflix announced its application for the iPhone. Already available for the iPad, the iPhone app will bring instant streaming to the handheld over both Wi-Fi and 3G networks. The app will also let Netflix subscribers manage their queue, browse titles and more. The app will be available as a free download this summer.

Doesn't this seem counter-intuitive to AT&T's new data plans?

As the subject says, AT&T just introduced new 2GB a month data plans at the same time Apple is introducing a Netflix streaming app seems like it goes against the new plans.

Then again, maybe it works out great for AT&T because now they can make money on all those people who jump on this Netflix bandwagon.
That was my first thought as well. Yet in looking at my actual usage, it appears that most of my usage is done via wifi. Yet with an average .9gb used on the network, streaming a couple movies would certainly add up if it weren't for wifi.
