Official Twitter App for Android Now Available

Twitter today launched its first party app for the Android platform. The eponymous Twitter for Android is now available from the Android market. The app includes a home screen widget to keep up with status updates and a geo-location feature to pinpoint tweets on a map. In addition, Twitter will add recent tweets to address book entries. The source code for the new Twitter app will be available from Google in the near future.
