Twitter Acquires Small SMS Provider

Twitter today announced that it has purchased a company called Cloudhopper. According to Twitter, its server processes one billion SMS tweets per month. In order to help it scale better and communicate to wireless networks moreefficiently, it has purchased Cioudhopper for an undisclosed sum. Twitter believes the acquisition will improve its SMS performance.
