Harris Corporation today announced a new technology developed in partnership with LG that will allow mobile digital television broadcasters to send more video programs down a single broadcast channel. Specifically, Harris says that broadcasters will be able to send up to 16 different programs in the same 6 MHz bandwidth that a normal TV channel would occupy. At the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas this week, Harris and LG will be demonstrating functioning hardware that can be used for transmission and reception of enhanced mobile DTV signals using the new technology.
