The merger combines San Diego-based Kyocera Wireless Corp. and Kyocera Communications, Inc. starting April 1, 2010. The combined entity will operate under the name Kyocera Communications, Inc., and will remain a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyocera International, Inc., which is the the North American headquarters and holding company for Japan's Kyocera Corporation. Moving forward, Kyocera Communications, Inc. will be responsible for the sales, marketing and service of wireless handsets produced by Kyocera Corporation, as well as engineering and operations support services to Kyocera Corporation’s Communications Equipment division.
