ZoomSafer, a company that produces policy management software to prevent drivers from being distracted by their cell phones, has announced a new VoiceMate service that will dictate incoming messages. The VoiceMate software will alert the driver audibly when a new text or e-mail arrives from a prioritized contact, and then the service will read those messages aloud. Drivers can also dictate messages to the VoiceMate software to send a response without using the phone's keyboard. The new VoiceMate service costs $4 per month, or $40 per year. That's on top of ZoomSafer's cost of $3 per month, or a $25 one time charge.
