Today SanDisk announced the availability of a new microSD card for mobile phones that can store up to 32GB of content. The new cards are being manufactured with third-generation 32nm X3 (3-bit-per-cell) technology. According to SanDisk, mobile network operators and handset makers are already ordering the cards, and have the option to pre-install software and/or other content for end users. Consumers can order the 32GB microSD cards directly from SanDisk's web site for $200. The 32GB microSD card will become widely available at retail outlets starting in April.

How Many

I wonder how many phones even support 32gb right now. 👀
None I am aware of today. But you can probably partition it to roughly 2 16 GB partitions.
...
The HTC Hero and Samsung Moment both support up to 32GB 🙂
...
I checked witth Moto and the Droid supports a 32 gig card.

Class 2?

With 32GB, you'd think this card would be at least Class 4 or 6. It took me about 30 minutes to fill 14GB worth of data on a 16GB Class 6 (and that was via USB 2.0 and not through the phone).

I guess in time...
It is class 2 indeed.

Awesome!

This is great! Just have to wait for the price to come down a bit so may be by year's end...
