PayPal today updated its iPhone app with new features, including the ability to "bump" payments from one phone to another using the technique developed by Bump Technologies. Bump already makes a contact and photo sharing app that transfers files when two iPhone users running the app bump their phones together, triggering an accelerometer action. Now, users can transfer money between PayPal accounts using the same action. PayPal's new app also allows users to send money requests to contacts in the iPhone's address book. PayPal users can also initiate a withdrawal of funds from their PayPal account to their bank account. The new PayPal app also integrates the PayPal for Kids service, which relies on a separate PayPal account linked to a parent's funds.
