Texas Instruments today announced their newest chipset for Pico projectors. The TI nHD chipset, along with the DLP Pico suite, is the thinnest, smallest Pico engine to date. The nHD projector offers image resolution up to 640 by 360 pixels. The tiny projector manages better than a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and Texas Instruments also claims improved power efficiency from the new chipset. The nHD will use new, low power processors in the TI Pico DPP260X family of processors. With claims to be the smallest around, the TI nHD chipset is 20% thinner, and 50% smaller all around than similar WVGA Pico projector chips.
