Today the GSMA announced that its One Voice Initiative has the support of 40 companies for its Voice Over Long Term Evolution solution. Some of the important companies backing the standard include AT&T and Verizon Wireless, as well as handset makers Huawei, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson. LTE does not natively support voice calls, and there are several solutions competing to become the standard used in handsets once LTE networks become widespread. Voice Over LTE works by using IMS (IP multimedia subsystem), which supports all voice call service features such as call waiting, call hold and call barring. By gaining the favor of the GSMA and the 40 companies behind it, Voice Over LTE has a new advantage compared to solutions such as VoLGA. In related news, Verizon Wireless, a CDMA operator in the U.S., has joined the GSMA, which is the worldwide body behind the GSM mobile phone system.

I wonder how VoLGA will respond? It doesn't look good for them now.
Given the companies named, I'm not sure what response they can have. Since Verizon is involved, that probably means Vodafone is onboard, as well.
