Novatel today announced that it has successfully complete what it calls the first data transmission of HSPA+ dual-carrier technology. HSPA+ dual-carrier technology will enable slightly better throughput and can reach maximum speeds of 42Mbps on the download.

Verizon Wireless today said it successfully completed 5G data sessions in an outdoor environment and pushed speeds as high as 1.8 Gbps. The company, together with partner Nokia, transmitted multiple live virtual reality sessions and 4K video streams over 28 GHz spectrum using the 3GPP New Radio 5G standard.

T-Mobile and partner Nokia today said they successfully completed what they claim was the nation’s first two-way over-the-air 5G data session on a 3GPP-compliant 5G New Radio system. This means the mobile device was able to upload information to the network as well as download information from it.

It's a shame ATT isn't interested in nex-gen technologies!
Which is why they won't be #1 anymore. AT&T will be hammered when LTE comes out too. They don't give a darn about their network.
