Verizon Takes Samsung's Convoy On the Road

Today Samsung and Verizon Wireless announced the ruggedized Convoy, a new push-to-talk phone that meets mil-spec 810F standards for durability. It can withstand shock and dust resistance, vibration, salt fog, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and low and high temperatures. The Convoy features a high-quality stereo speaker, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, a 2 megapixel camera and extended battery life. The Convoy will be available November 15 for $50 after rebates with new agreement.

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy XCover6 Pro, a new "enterprise-ready smartphone powerful enough to support today's most demanding businesses". Its rugged design carries an IP68 water and dust rating, and MIL-STD-810H certification for drops, altitude, humidity, immersion, salt fog, dust, and vibration.

They look like boomers! Anyone know if they are as good as the LG8300 speakers?

Good point, or at least waterproof. I heard a growing number of "normal" phones in Japan are waterproof.
