AT&T has verified that despite its Tuesday announcement to allow VoIP services transit its 3G data network, AT&T is still fine-tuning its network and isn't going to offer tethering for iPhone customers until the network is ready. It wouldn't commit to a time frame.

Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro is Rugged, Ready for Business
Jun 29, 2022
Samsung has revealed the Galaxy XCover6 Pro, a new "enterprise-ready smartphone powerful enough to support today's most demanding businesses". Its rugged design carries an IP68 water and dust rating, and MIL-STD-810H certification for drops, altitude, humidity, immersion, salt fog, dust, and vibration.
I wonder what "ready" means according to ATT
So pretty much what this boils down to is nearly 2.5yrs after the Iphone is launched their network still isn't ready for the Iphone, a whole 2.5yrs later. . .So I wonder what exactly does "ready" mean to ATT?
Besides, ATTs network isn't worth tethering over, or any of the big 4 really. My next payday I'm getting internet service from a TRUE wireless broadband company, one that doesn't bring SHAME to the word broadband, of course I'm talking about Clear and their 3-6mbps with bursts of up to 10mbps. Their speeds aren't a joke like the big 4.
I wish I could get that where I live... I'd do it in a heart beat!
:/ Apple & At&T invested tons into the iPhone. 2.5yrs? later and the "revolutionary" iPhone is falling behind on the continuous evolving "revolution" of cellphone technology.
The iPhone is still AT&T's flag ship. You cant mention AT&T without also ...

put 10 million iphones on any network and see what happens. Let's not forget to mention all the people that use the phone in ways that violates their TOS.
no wonder they call it the i(diot) phone!
what' the deal with all the HYPES on iphone? i guess it' for i(diot) people!
i(diot) phone just got MMS a few weeks ago on ATT, pdaPhone got MMS long before iphone!
and no tether on iphone?
there' tether for pdaPhone long before there' iphone!
True, there has been tethering for quite sometime on a WinMo phone, or Blackberry, but then again those phones are probably not targeted for the mainstream consumers, like the iphone is.
is that it doesn't stink, unlike pdaPhone.
I concur with you my good man though not your grammar j/k 😛
Strange
So why make an announcement at all?
Prolly cuz after everyone stopped complaining and whining about mms they started on the tethering whine.
That's funny... I have tethering on my iPhone... and it seems the network, where I live, handles it just fine ;)
