RIM Makes BlackBerry Messenger 5 Available to All

Today Research In Motion made the latest version of its BlackBerry Messenger program available to all devices. The updated messaging program includes support for avatars, group sharing, 2D barcodes and larger file transfers. The download is free.

bricked my phone

tried loading it twice. got the white screen of death twice
What OS are you using? is it an official release or beta?
...
Had no problem installing mine.. Downloaded it from Blackberry App World, and it installed itself after almost 10 minutes of watching the spinning hourglass, then it rebooted and works just fine.
