HTC's Pure and Tilt 2 Run WinMo 6.5 on AT&T

Today AT&T and HTC announced the first two Windows Mobile 6.5 devices that the companies are bringing to market, the Pure and the Tilt 2. Shared features include touch screens with TouchFLO 3D on top of WinMo 6.5, support for Windows Marketplace for Mobile, carrier billing, and Flash support in the new Internet Explorer Mobile.

Pure: "Gravity sensor"?

Hmm, I've never heard of a "gravity sensor"? I've heard of proximety sensors, light sensors, but never a gravity sensor. So I wonder how that works, if you drop the phone, does it sense that it's falling and maybe shuts the phone off or something, heck, I don't know.
when traveling through space it can detect gravity wells and warn it's user beforehand.

FYI: "gravity sensor" (G senor), like the iphone has, allows for automatic rendering of the screen when going from portrait to landscape and visa virsa (without manually changing screen settings).
