MetroPCS Begins Selling Messager II

MetroPCS today began online sales of the Samsung Messager II (SCH-R560). Compared to the original Messager, the new model is sleeker, has a new QWERTY keyboard design, steps up to a 2 megapixel camera (from 1 megapixel) and adds video capture and EVDO high-speed data. MetroPCS is selling the Messager II for $149. The phone was first leaked two months ago on Samsung's web site. A variant of the phone is already on sale in Canada as the Vice.

Identicle design to 3-year old SCH-i760
Correct me if I am wrong, but this phone is strickingly similar to the SCH-i760 that was a 3 yr-old design launched 2 years ago (and was already dated when it launched). Dont get me wrong. I owned the i760 and loved it to death!! But to reincarnate a 3 yr-old design minus WinMobile is ludicrous. If you look at the chrome circular d-pad its the exact same part. Probably left over from the i760 parts bun. Interesting is that this Metrophone model is the "i560" which lends to the same series model scheme. maybe Samsung designed this phone 3 yrs ago as well and never released it.
hey I wonder if Motorola has any unrealeased Star-tac phones that they want to relaunch? I guess retro is in! Waiting for my Smart-Bag-Phone and Smart-Brick-Phone....

Does anyone know....
if and when metro will beef up their network and expand coverage...also do they include nationwide roaming without a fee? Because I live in metro detroit but i travel to chicago and the south and at&t is killing me $$$ wise, I know already that metro is a ghetto provider but I'm tempted to switch so i can save money.

True, but this is just what this carrier needs, people don't go to MetroPCS for iPhones, Storms, Pre's G1's and high end fea...
