Today Samsung and AT&T announced the availability of the Samsung Solstice. The Solstice has quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band 850/1900 3G radios, and features a three-inch touchscreen. It runs the TouchWiz user interface and has a landscape software QWERTY keyboard for text and data input. It also carriers a 2 megapixel camera with video capture, Bluetooth, and support for microSD cards up to 16GB. The Solstice will be available on August 2 for $100 after rebates with new agreement.

So what is the difference...

between this and the Samsung Eternity?
Touchwiz interface is updated with social networking shortcuts (who cares?). Possibly an AMOLED display? Not sure.

....what?

AT&T already has the Eternity, and it's cheaper then this phone after rebates, not to mention the Eternity has a 3.0mp camera. Why did Samsung release this now?
I agree, in fact we posted almost simultaneously, weirdly enough.

they added voice dial it looks like, from the icon on the picture. Eternity didn't have it but the vu did. That was a big difference when driving....
