Today Verizon Wireless announced that it is going to provide Slacker Radio to the BlackBerry Storm as a free over-the-air update. Slacker Radio lets users create their own, custom radio stations. The free version of Slacker being provided to the Storm will inserts ads from time to time. Verizon is also integrating Slacker Radio with its V CAST Music store, and will allow users to download tracks they hear on Slacker via the V CAST Music Store while the track is still playing in Slacker. Users will be notified that a Slacker song is available in the V CAST Store with a little icon that will appear in the Slacker Radio player. Slacker is also available via BlackBerry Apps World. Those who already have the app installed will be offered the free upgrade.
