Handful of Mobile Companies Agree to Work Together on Java

A number of companies from the mobile industry, including Access, France Telecom/Orange, Motorola, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Sun Microsystems and Vodafone, have all agreed on some programs to make developing for Java Platform Micro Edition easier and more consistent across device types. The new initiatives, which include a uniform testing platform, should help developers to get Java-based mobile devices and applications to market faster.
