Microsoft Posts Guidelines for Marketplace for Mobile
May 6, 2009, 8:21 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Microsoft has listed what types of applications will be forbidden in the Marketplace for Mobile when it launches later this year. Some of the guidelines aim to protect end-user security and prohibit actions such as broadcasting location information or end-user data without expressly obtaining permission from the user first. Other guidelines forbid VoIP apps; forbid replacing any of the native messaging features; forbid replacing the default browser, search client or media player; and forbid links to content outside of Marketplace for Mobile.
