T-Mobile and Samsung Intro the 8 Megapixel Memoir

T-Mobile USA and Samsung jointly announced the Samsung T929 Memoir today. The Memoir is a touch-based phone that carries an 8 megapixel camera with CMOS autofocus, Xenon flash and five different shooting modes. The Memoir uses Samsung's TouchWiz user interface and Samsung has loaded it with a new widget that makes uploading to photo-sharing sites easier. The Memoir has music/video playback capabilities, a virtual QWERTY keyboard for composing messages, Bluetooth, a-GPS and can access T-Mobile's 3G network. The exact release date and price was not disclosed.

Phonedog: Memoir can rightfully claim the title of “Best Cameraphone on a US Carrier†in my book, at least for now. I’m no photographer, but the images I snapped with the device this week came out looking great, and many a point-and-shoot Ansel Adams would do just fine using Memoir as their daily shooter. Still, Memoir the phone leaves something to be desired when pitted head-to-head with the iPhones, BlackBerries, G1s, and Touch Pros (and, soon, Pres) that occupy the same $199 and up price category.

WIFI!?
No disrespect against samsung, this looks like a great phone but WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO ADD WIFI??? The lack of this feature is a huge deal breaker for a lot of people. This has the potential to be the best phone tmobile has to offer. WISE UP A LITTLE SAMSUNG.

I think tht's the direction most phones are going in. The phone is secondary to some other really high-end feature. Instinct, Iphone, Blackberry Storm, if you really think about it, the last thing you hear about any of these phones is the phone part...

that fone is sick, nice high-end samsung, the only thing i'd add is the android OS into that.
Ya, sounds great but I saw the Behold and just wasn't impressed enough with Samsungs widget interface. I think i'm gonna hold out for an android version, or another HTC windows phone.
