A Nokia executive recently said that the company has plans to entire the wireless modem business and will have its first product ready by early 2009. Wireless modems, sometimes called dongles, are used to connect laptops to the Internet via high-speed cellular networks. Nokia said its will draw from its vast expertise in making cell phones to bring the modems to market. Nokia's first wireless modem will be HSPA compatible, and most likely sold through wireless network operators. No pricing was available, nor was an exact release date.
