OpenMoko Picks U.S. Distributor for FreeRunner
OpenMoko has increased the availability of its FreeRunner Linux-based phone by adding faberNovel to its list of distributors. FaberNovel is selling the FreeRunner on its Web site for $399. The FreeRunner runs an open source version of the mobile Linux operating system.
ChromeOS Gains Support for Linux

Pixelbook owners will soon be able to use Linux on their ChromeOS device. Google today announced that Chromebooks will be able to run Linux apps, which will let developers open a window and use their favorite Linux-based tools without leaving ChromeOS.
Google's Allo Messaging App Lands On the Web, Sort Of

Google today brought its assistant-backed Allo messaging application to the web. Allo on the web requires Google's Chrome browser and can only interact with Allo on Android smartphones for now (iPhone support is coming later.) Google says Allo web access requires the latest version of the mobile Allo app on your handset in order to function.

LG today made an open version of the webOS platform available to developers and the public. Anyone can download webOS Open Source Edition from LG's web site and use the the code for whatever they wish.
