Quickfire for Sale at AT&T

The AT&T Quickfire is available starting today through AT&T retail locations or at online for $100 after a two-year agreement and mail-in rebate. The Quickfire has a touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard and 1.3 megapixel camera.

Looks Like a SideKick w/ out the Data plan

Looks like AT&T wants to release a slew of Texting phones. Look, a faster way for High school students to cheat on their exams. 🙄

Texting is useful, but it's basically just a quick message or reminder that the receiving person can read at on their own time.

Saw One.

Played with one in a corp store today, rather nice for my teenage daughters, price is right, kb is real nice. HTC from what I here makes it for US Starcom (if that isn't one of there shell companies?) and feels solid.

Again, this phone is for a certain niche market, similar to the Sidekicks and I guess someways better since it uses a regular medianet plan. Since we have unlimited family texring, happy fingers can text away.
It has a plain interface that tries to be like the iPhone, but comes up short in many ways.

It seems like a phone, that trys to look like a PDA, and compete with a SideKick in a few ways, and does neither one well.

I'm sure some people would lik...
