Samsung Retracts Bid for SanDisk

Samsung has officially withdrawn its $5.9 billion takeover bid of SanDisk, maker of flash memory products. Samsung cited economic uncertainties and a poor outlook for growth at SanDisk as reasons for retracting the bid. SanDisk recently reported a quarterly loss.
