Sprint Completes Tower Sale

Sprint announced that it has completed the sale of is cellular towers to TowerCo for $670 million. It sold 3080 towers to TowerCo, which will take over the operation and maintenance costs of the towers. Sprint has also signed a leasing agreement to use the towers so it can continue to operate its cellular networks.

Sprint owns the spectrum, which is the right to broadcast at certain frequencies. They just sold the towers that do such a thing. Most towers are actually owned by 3rd-party companies. Most carriers tend to share towers anyways, meaning that ...

So I'm just wondering....

If Sprint now has a leasing contract from TowerCo, is Sprint still making money off the smaller carriers who have leasing contracts with them?
thats a good question I work for sprint and I've not heard anything yet...

hmm...

I'm sure this is a good move for sprint! We still don't lose the coverage and can focus on more important issues like billing...
