Virgin Relaunches Helio

Today Virgin Mobile USA relaunched Helio with the branding: Helio by Virgin Mobile. Virgin plans to launch the Shuttle, Virgin Mobile USA's first handset able to use Helio services such as Buddy Beacon. It is also enhancing Helio's $80 A La Carte plan, effective today, to include Unlimited Minutes rather than the current 1500 minute allocation. The new terms of the Helio A La Carte plan, which mirror Virgin Mobile USA's Totally Unlimited prepaid voice plan at $79.99, will be available for current and future Helio members. Virgin has already transitioned Helio subscribers to its systems. For a while, it will run the customer care operations separately.

Verizon Intros New, Cheaper Unlimited Plan

Verizon has introduced a new entry-level unlimited plan that's $5/month cheaper. The new Welcome Unlimited plan is mostly similar to the company's 5G Start plan (which was previously the cheapest, and remains available), but does not include the 5 GB of mobile hotspot data that was recently added to that plan.

Visible Completely Overhauls Plans

Visible is moving to an entirely new service plan structure, dropping the base rate for a single line, but phasing out its "Party Pay" multi-line discounts. The company is also introducing a new premium plan.
