Today Sprint announced two new clamshell phones, the Motorola VE20 and Sanyo Katana Eclipse. Pricing was not given, but both phones will be available beginning today
- VE20: This clamshell resembles the RAZR line from Motorola. The external display has touch capacitance buttons that can be used to access the phone's messaging system, music and other applications, including Sprint TV, which can be watched with the phone closed. It has a 2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headset jack, microUSB, microSD slot, stereo Bluetooth, GPS and an EVDO data radio.
- Katana Eclipse: This addition to the Katana line brings user-customizable exterior illumination to the fold. Users can set the exterior lights to a wide variety of colors and patterns to serve as caller IDs or messaging alerts. It also has external music controls, a 1.3 megapixel camera, GPS, 2.5mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth, slot for microSD card and microUSB.
