Openmoko Puts the Neo FreeRunner Up for Sale

Today Openmoko announced that the Neo FreeRunner mobile phone will go on sale starting Monday, July 7. The FreeRunner has been under development for over a year and is based on an open GNU/Linux platform. It will be available in two tri-band configurations, one 850/1800/1900 for North America and the other 900/1800/1900 for other regions. The final specs of the device include 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, two 3-way motion sensors, a 2.8-inch VGA touch screen and a-GPS. The phone will come with basic core phone software, and Openmoko will make additional features available over time through firmware updates. The Neo FreeRunner will cost $399.

What is that? How fast is it? Is it actually GPRS, or is it Edge?
